My First Book Haul.

OK this title is misleading , its not technically my first book haul just the first one I’ve shared on here. I normally share these on Instagram.

If you’re from the UK you will probably already know the joy that is The Works. They always have amazing offers on books and when you get a voucher for free delivery if you spend £10 and books are 3 for £5 its pretty hard to resist!

The Books

This book is the whole reason for this order. I read Sweet Pea and I had to go and get a copy of this to find out what happens next. I wont put the synopsis down for this one because it gives spoilers away for the first if you haven’t read it. It follows Rhiannon from Sweet Pea as she deals with the consequences of her actions from the first book. If you haven’t read it yet I definitely recommend it.

The Last Mrs Parrish by Liv Constantine

Synopsis: Amber Patterson is tired of being a nobody: an invisible woman who melts into the background. She deserves more. She deserves a life of wealth, luxury and leisure. Daphne Parrish is the golden girl of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut. With her model looks, her picture-perfect mansion and her millionaire husband, Jackson, she has everything Amber wants. Amber’s envy could eat her alive—if she didn’t have a plan. Before long, she has become Daphne’s closest friend, and is catching the eye of Jackson. But a skeleton from her past could destroy everything, and if discovered, Amber’s well-laid plan may end in disaster.

I’ve thought about picking this one up for a while so when I saw it was in the offer it seemed like the perfect opportunity. This sounds like the type of book I’d enjoy with promises of being suspenseful and thrilling.

The Sisters by Claire Douglas

Synopsis: After a tragic accident, still haunted by her twin sister’s death, Abi is making a fresh start in Bath. But when she meets siblings Bea and Ben, she is quickly drawn into their privileged and unsettling circle. As Abi tries to keep up with the demands of her fickle friends, strange things start to happen – precious letters go missing and threatening messages are left in her room. Is this the work of the beautiful and capricious Bea? Or is Abi willing to go to any lengths to get attention?

Again this sounds exactly like something I would like. When something is listed as a psychological thriller I find it hard to resist.

The Memory Collector by Fiona Harper

Synopsis: Heather doesn’t want to remember her childhood, not when her mother’s extreme hoarding cast her family life into disarray. For Heather’s mother, every possession was intimately connected to a memory, so when Heather uncovers a secret about her past that could reveal why her mother never let anything go, she knows there’s only one place she’ll find answers – behind the locked door of her spare room, where the remains of her mother’s hoard lie hidden. As Heather uncovers both objects and memories, will the truth set her free? Or will she discover she’s more like her mother than she ever thought possible?

See, I don’t just read thrillers full of suspense! I’ve seen this book popping up on my Instagram feed every now and then and it sounds like it could be a wonderful, beautiful read.

The New Girl by Ingrid Alexandra

Synopsis: When Rachel moves into the spare room in Mary’s flat, everyone is quick to jump to the conclusion that there’s something strange about her. Everyone apart from Mary. And when Rachel starts sleepwalking, the flatmates’ fears grow. But there’s something about the new girl that Mary can’t help but trust, and having recently escaped a toxic relationship, she needs the support. Rachel becomes a friend and an ally, and Mary soon discovers that they have more in common than she ever could have imagined. In fact, Rachel seems to know more about Mary than she knows about herself.

And we’re back to the psychological thrillers! This sounds very Single White Female to me and lets be honest who doesn’t love bit of crazy woman living in your flat?!

The Craftsman by Sharon Bolton

Synopsis: Florence Lovelady’s career was made when she convicted coffin-maker Larry Glassbrook of a series of child murders 30 years ago. Like something from our worst nightmares the victims were buried…ALIVE. Larry confessed to the crimes; it was an open and shut case. But now he’s dead, and events from the past start to repeat themselves.Did she get it wrong all those years ago? Or is there something much darker at play?

I’d never heard of this book before but it looked appealing so I did a bit more research to find out what it was about. It sounded like a standard detective book but then I discovered its got witches in it! That pushed me into giving this a try as it sounds so different and interesting.

That’s all my books in my mini haul hope you enjoyed reading and if you pick any up or have read any already let me know!
